Welcome to A Place To Bloom

A Place To Bloom offers coaching programs conveniently online, teaching kids good habits and giving them tools that can evolve with them as they grow. We focus on topics and skills in the areas of: building relationships, communication, identifying and regulating emotions, problem solving, building self-esteem, and more!

Based in Gilbert, Arizona, we specialize in giving children the knowledge and developmental skills they need to be successful –through life’s big moments, small moments, and everything in between.

We provide customized programs designed to meet kids where they are, starting young with purpose and prevention in mind. We aim to fill the gap between home and school and create a space where kids feel surrounded by support, empowered to learn, and confident in themselves.

About Miss Bloom

Emily is a Developmental Coach, Certified Educator, and founder of A Place To Bloom. She is a classroom teacher by trade with over 10 years of hands-on teaching experience and professional development.

She has worked with kids of all ages and their families to develop and implement programs based on individual needs in order to ensure a positive learning experience.

The vision for A Place To Bloom came together through her education, professional and volunteer experience, and her own personal journey. Emily partners with kids and families to fill the gap and give young children the skills that they need to be successful at home, at school, and in their communities.

My Philosophy

Families work incredibly hard to support their children educationally, financially, and emotionally. School is oftentimes a child’s first exposure to society and the education system is built primarily around academics. The system requires teachers and schools to focus on academic progress. So when are children being explicitly taught the critical social and emotional skills necessary for academic and social success?

Through educational experience Emily found that, in any given classroom, every child benefited from attention to social-emotional development. Regardless of background, level of support, or need, all kids require instruction in this area and have opportunities to grow. For some it is learning to confidently speak and share in a group setting or even 1-on-1. For others it is learning about personal space, self awareness, and emotional regulation. What can you do when you are feeling sad, frustrated, excited, nervous, rejected, or excluded? How can you recognize and help a friend when they are facing different emotions? Who, when, and how do you ask for help? These are just a few examples that come up in your average classroom and in everyday experiences. All are a part of development. All are a part of life and being in community with others.

Now more than ever we are seeing the gap in critical skills play out in adolescents that are lost or unable to cope. Instead of naming, communicating, and managing their needs, many are finding their own ways to escape while remaining silent.

At A Place To Bloom we believe in building a solid foundation early. We equip kids with tools to cope with everyday experiences, facilitate positive relationships, and allow time for guided practice and support. In order for kids to have any chance of accessing necessary skills when they do need them, they need to learn and practice the skills when they don’t need them…and in a safe environment. This is why we start young with purposeful lessons and prevention in mind.

Our programs are suitable for all kids! We focus on fostering real, authentic, meaningful connections. Students learn calming strategies, positive self talk, healthy movement, and more as a way of building lifelong skills that they can access at an early age, as an adolescent, and into adulthood.

Our packages include on-going classroom style meetings, individual check-ins, small group social activities, and family support. We would love to partner with you in supporting your child’s development.

Let’s connect and see if we’re a good fit!
